Urticaria usually occurs suddenly as a raised, red rash that varies in size and shape. It can occur on the face, arms, legs, torso, and other parts of the body. Patients feel very itchy and if they scratch, the rash will become even redder. Urticaria can occur in people of all ages, but it is more common in women than in men. It can be divided into 2 types based on the duration and symptoms that occur:

  • Acute Urticaria: Urticaria that appears and disappears quickly on its own. Most symptoms disappear within 48 hours, or in cases that last longer, they may last for no more than 6 weeks.
  • Chronic urticaria is characterized by hives that appear and disappear continuously for more than 6 weeks. Most chronic urticaria is not life-threatening, but it can be very annoying or uncomfortable, affecting the person’s daily life or sleep UFABET

If you experience severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis). Such as difficulty breathing, dizziness, swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat, severe stomach pain, and vomiting, see a doctor immediately. These symptoms can be life-threatening if not treated promptly.

Prevention of urticaria

You can relieve and prevent hives by yourself. The important thing is to avoid triggers that. You have learned from a doctor’s diagnosis or to observe yourself and keep a record regularly to know the triggers that cause hives. This will make it easier for the doctor to diagnose the triggers. Also, be careful when taking medications such as antibiotics  because this is another thing that can trigger hives.
